You will report to the
**Shop Manager**:, and under their guidance, you will:

- Assist Motion staff with problem-solving, product selection & sizing.
- Disassemble, diagnose & repair hydraulic components such as hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors & valves.
- Complete written inspection reports which include the findings, scope of work, bill of materials & labor.
- Operate equipment such as honing machine, lapping machine, hydraulic test stand, cutoff saw, lathes, mills & other machine shop equipment.
- Complete written inspection reports for all repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance on shop equipment.

**Requirements**:

- Fluid power principles & practices.
- Broad understanding of hydraulic cylinders, motors, pumps & valves.
- General shop experience, machining & welding.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specification.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Strong troubleshooting abilities
- Able to work independently and as a team player.
- Excellent and practical communication skills, including clearly written technical reports that meet customer expectations.
- Time management skills to deliver on tight deadlines.
- Able to make knowledgeable decisions with confidence.

**Training/Education**:

- Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Journeyman Millwright, Journeyman machinist or equivalent experience.
- Safe work practices.
