**Overview**

This role will encompass ensuring the delivery of data management capabilities and data governance artifacts. The Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for leading data governance operations and coordinating communication with stakeholders to further the maturation of data and information assets. The project requires the ability to conduct a deep analysis of the information needs of various stakeholders across the client organization.

The Data Governance Analyst will perform a variety of functions, including:

- Provide leadership in the procurement and implementation of data governance related tools and technologies.
- Develop, document, and evolve frameworks, standards, processes, guidelines, and user guides for data governance operations.
- Review data governance artifacts and provide peer reviews and guidance.
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding processes for data stewardship roles.
- Develop content for data governance training materials.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of data governance assets.
- Formulate and adopt agreements with internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross-departmental data discussions.
- Ensure adherence to data quality requirements.
- Develop KPIs and conduct data governance maturity assessments.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of changes for continuous program improvement.
- Analyze data trends to ensure alignment with industry best practices and continuously improve data maintenance techniques to meet information needs.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 4 years of previous management experience with data governance and/or data management
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of direct Data Governance experience
- 8+ years of experience in the data analysis and business analysis arenas
- 5+ years of experience in implementing tools and technologies associated with data integration
- High-level expertise with SAS Data Management tools
- Proven ability to determine the maturity level of organizational data governance and data management practices
- Demonstrated skill in creating data warehouse business rules based on data profiling
- Skilled in implementing Excel data analysis functions
- In-depth expertise with the core functions of data management (ETL processes, data quality management, data security, metadata management, data architecture management, and master data management)
- Functional knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing practices
- Advanced SQL expertise
- Familiarity with Data Management Maturity Assessment methodologies
- Comprehensive knowledge of data modelling (including logical and dimensional modelling)
- Functional knowledge of privacy legislation and Personal Identifiable Information (PII) categorization
- Ability to analyze complex business requirements and interpret data mapping documentation
- Experience working in a SharePoint library environment
- Ability to take on leadership activities such as the facilitation of meetings, workshops, and interviews with various executive levels in addition
- Proven ability in leading organizational change management activities related to data governance and data management policies
- Demonstrated expertise gathering data governance and data management requirements
- Demonstrated expertise creating and implementing data management strategies, data governance frameworks, and related roadmaps
- Demonstrated expertise developing data policies, processes, and standards
- Demonstrated expertise creating and leveraging data governance measures, KPIs, and reports
- Experience supporting and administering an enterprise data management program
- Experience implementing and supporting data quality programs
- Experience managing public sector projects and/or programs
- Experience managing complex projects within the context of an overall program

**Desirable Atrributes**
- Experience in the development of training and educational materials
- Ability to facilitate knowledge transfer between the contracted resources and staff
- Experience leveraging DMBOK version 2 knowledge areas
- Demonstrated familiarity with data visualization tools, preferably Power BI
- Data Governance and Data Management certifications are strong assets
