**Role Summary**

The Consultant, Business Systems Analyst works with internal and external stakeholders including the technology and business teams to develop and implement data solutions tailored to a project’s requirements. The nature of the projects varies from Waterfall to Agile and technology varies from legacy to cutting edge. They are involved throughout the project lifecycle by capturing and documenting requirements, test strategy/plans, test cases, execution of testing, sign off and implementation into production. They are supported by team members and the Practice Manager.

This position does not have any direct reports.

**Major Areas of Responsibility**
- Deep, multilayered understanding of the business issues and the data challenges of the clients’ organizations and their industries.
- Ensure requirements are clear and complete, eliminating uncertainties and ambiguities.
- Establish quality solutions and validation against the requirements.
- Participate in the development of project plans to establish appropriate workload expectations and schedules.
- Communicate clearly with project team members, identify/resolve issues, and escalate when required.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of, and adopt, relevant market trends and practices.
- Gather project requirements and develop a requirement matrix to identify gaps
- Create a detailed, functional/non-functional requirements documents, review and obtain sign off from key stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing updates and review throughout the project lifestyle.
- Create test strategy/plans and execute test cases.

**Nice to Have**:

- Analytics / Business Intelligence tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Cognos, Looker)

**Required Education and Experience**:

- Around 3-5 years’ experience on technical projects including three as a Business Systems Analyst
- SQL, Teradata, or Oracle
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Software or Computer Science/Engineering fields or related industry experience or acumen
- Experience in Data Warehousing, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Cloud Projects (AWS, GCP, Azure) or Big Data (Hadoop, Hive, Impala)
- ETL experience
- SLDC methodologies, specifically Agile and Waterfall
- MS Project (or similar project management tool)
- Data analysis (i.e., data quality, data migration, data processing and data manipulation)

- Level-headed decision making and ability to think on your feet
- Innovation, creative, solution-based approaches to solving problems
- Time management, prioritizing effectively while delivering high quality work
