We are looking for someone willing to work with current facilitators to continue building a sustainable and replicable model of supportive living for individuals with developmental exceptionalities. As a live-in facilitator you will have access to **free** comfortable **room & board, food, all utilities, Wi-Fi, cable, and landline**. Offering a **mandatory 7 hours per week**, optional **up to** **25 hours per week,**with flexible scheduling for those working or attending school. Experience as a DSW, SSW, or PSW an asset, but not required. The goal of this program is to grow from 3 homes to 10 in the next 10 years, providing more intentional, compassionate and meaningful support to the Ottawa community.

**Facilitator Responsibilities**:

- Supports each individual in a non-judgmental and collaborative fashion to expand upon their own experience of life without judgment
- Acts not as an expert or instructor of “life skills”, but to model activities of daily living and to share a lived experience.
- Hosting community outings or pot lucks for **Journey House** residents once every 3 weeks as a way to build community and connection for and between our residents
- Supports menu planning and preparation and be available in home overnight
- Provides professional, appropriate and emphatic regard for individuals’ relational strengths, helping to move into connection with others.
- Maintains and supervises established routines and procedures.
- Assists residents to establish and achieve individualized goals
- Utilizes effective and respectful conflict resolution skills.
- Maintains confidentiality of residents.
- Participates in implementation of program activities.
- Fosters positive relationships and collaboration with residents, other staff, community programs and partners.
- Provides support to program activities as requested.
- Participates in weekly meetings as with co-facilitators as a means of maintaining high quality support for residents and self

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7 - 30 per week
