**Overview**
The Director of Care plays a pivotal role in overseeing the quality of care provided to residents in senior living facilities, including assisted living and nursing homes. This leadership position requires a compassionate individual with extensive experience in senior care, particularly in dementia care, who can effectively manage staff and ensure compliance with health regulations. The Director of Care will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that promotes the well-being and dignity of all residents.

**Duties**
- Lead and supervise the care team to ensure high standards of resident care are maintained.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs, focusing on both physical and emotional well-being.
- Oversee medication administration processes and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Manage budgets related to care services, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident health and well-being, making necessary adjustments to care plans as needed.
- Provide training and support for staff on best practices in senior care, including dementia care techniques.
- Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and community resources to enhance resident care experiences.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and maintain documentation for compliance purposes.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in senior care settings, particularly in assisted living or nursing homes.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Knowledge of dementia care principles and practices is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management related to healthcare services.
- Valid nursing license preferred; nursing background is advantageous.
