Specific Accountabilities:
- Following the guidelines of the EarlyON Child and Family Centre and the Lambton College EarlyON Centre’s policies and procedures manual, the incumbent plans and implements stimulating in-person and virtual learning experiences, that reflect pedagogy in HDLH for children 0-6 years, parents and caregivers attending EarlyON programs;
- Facilitates in-person and virtual workshops for parents/caregivers based on current research and best practices, in response to the needs of families and our community.
- Communicates and interacts with students on placement.
About the Position:
This is a temporary position replacing a bargaining unit employee working 24 hours per week (including some evenings and Saturdays) at an hourly rate of $24.34 reporting to the Manager, EarlyON Child and Family Centre.
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education Diploma and a registered member in good standing with the College of ECEs are required;
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates required;
- Minimum of two years post diploma training as an Early Childhood Educator in an EarlyON Centre or in a licensed childcare setting;
- Experience working with adults;
- Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills in order to communicate effectively with the children, staff, parents and public;
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team;
- Able to bend, stoop and lift materials and to move furniture or equipment to prepare for programming needs.
