The Resident Engagement Manager (REM) creates a dynamic culture within the community that enables residents to identify and pursue their lifestyle wellness goals and interests within a supportive and well-resourced community.
JOB DUTIES
The Resident Engagement Manager (REM) has three areas of focus:

- Facilitate and Curate Experiences with and for residents
- Collaborate and Network with residents, families, team members, prospects, local organizations, and volunteers
- Maintain Communication and Accountability Standards through written and verbal communication, monthly calendar and newsletter publications, and data tracking
Facilitate and Curate Resident Experiences 60% of duties fall under this area of focus; therefore, 60% of your time will be spent on these tasks in a given day or week.
Primary Duties
- Develop and lead a dynamic culture that promotes resident wellbeing, choice, and engagement
- Develop and implement programs in line with guidelines and brand standards
- Develop and pilot new innovative resident experiences and programs
- Leverage technology to develop, enhance, promote, and provide in-suite and group programming within the community to engage residents
- Oversee The Market per the guidelines, and identify ways for it to better serve residents’ needs
- Complete and maintain professional development training, and ensure team members complete necessary certifications and training as required
Collaborate and Network 20% of duties fall under this area of focus; therefore, 20% of your time will be spent on these tasks in a given day or week.
Primary Duties
- Engage residents in collaboration, co-facilitation, and program participation
- Consistently implement and enhance the new resident welcome initiative, which supports new residents in connecting and feeling like they are a part of the community
- Foster strong relationships with local organizations, vendors, and contractors to further support resident engagement and wellbeing
- Grow and oversee a dynamic volunteer program for in-person and remote volunteers, including student internships
- Support the General Manager in the organization and take minutes for Town Halls and Resident Council meetings
- Connect with fellow REMs, including the National Director of Resident Engagement for ongoing support
Maintain Communication and Accountability 20% of duties fall under this area of focus; therefore, 20% of your time will be spent on these tasks in a given day or week.
Primary Duties
- Develop the monthly community calendar of events and newsletter
- Track all participation and engagement data per organization guidelines
- Complete leisure profiles on new residents within 14 days of move-in
- Analyze and review reports, surveys, data, and make necessary adjustments to program offerings
- Plan and facilitate department team meetings. Meetings should be held,at minimum, monthly for general department operations and quarterly to plan larger community initiatives, such as special events and holiday celebrations
- Host a monthly Resident Planning Meeting and promote it on the monthly calendar
- Attend all required meetings within the community, including the monthly Leisure Services meeting
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, orientation, development, and performance management of team members
- Ensure all IPAC and infection control protocols are adhered to at all times
- Participate in departmental budget monitoring and annual fiscal preparation, inclusive of The Market
- Supervise the use of the organization’s transportation including vehicle maintenance, and driver training
- Order and maintain departmental supplies and equipment
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections
- Process payroll information, if applicable
- Maintain and organize leisure areas and equipment to provide a positive “tour ready” experience
- Participate in the management committee structure and support the ongoing evaluation of operational systems and departmental progress and effectiveness
- Coordinate and supervise the volunteer and student placement programs for the residence, including recruitment, orientation, recognition, and evaluation
- Maintain a positive image of the residence through ongoing communications with the local community and media
- Perform other duties as required
MUST HAVES:

- A passion and commitment to promote, elevate, and support the health and happiness of seniors through lifestyle wellness experiences, including special events, outings, small and large group programs, and fitness based offerings
- Must be able to set priorities and meet time and calendar deadlines as workload may fluctuate as resident needs and occupancy change
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
- A degree/diploma in Gerontology, Kinesiol
