**Nature & Scope**:
Reporting to the Director, Facilities & Assets, the Cleaning & Maintenance Technician will work as part of a team that will ensure that the building and all equipment within the facility is clean and in good working order.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure that all assigned areas are cleaned as per established protocols; monitor all areas by walking throughout facility regularly
- Clean external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks and parking lots
- Know, follow and promote all established procedures and safety standards
- Respond promptly to requests for cleaning services
- Perform pool chemistry tests regularly and record readings
- Do minor repairs and maintenance such as painting, plumbing, repairing drywall, and assembling equipment; Minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks
- Ensure good relations with YMCA personnel, members, guest and the public
- Have the ability to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 40 lbs (18kg) as necessary
- Assist with coverage of shifts as needed
**Qualifications**:
- Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) including Vulnerable Sector Check completed not more than 120 days prior to date of hire, with results acceptable to the YMCA of Eastern Ontario
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR level “C”
