On behalf of our client here in Vancouver,
** Ignite Technical Resources **is looking for a
**Release Planner **for a
**contract opportunity.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Accountable for solutioning and delivering the RBS portfolio backlog
- Lead all aspects of the RBS Platform Release Calendar
- Coordinate across Product, Platform, and Practice teams to plan and complete release process on a regular cadence within an agile delivery environment
- Form virtual release teams from the wider community to ensure the right skills mix for the release and provide over-arching management support for the team as required.
- Own Platform release communications to both internal and external stakeholders pre, during, and post release
- Perform release post-mortems and retrospectives to ensure successful release completion, learn from setbacks, and resolve any post-release fixes.
- Maintain and improve the release process documentation repository.
- Generate release deployment plan for review meetings, including definition and tracking of release milestones
- Understands the business/group and facilitates communication with other program/project managers and stakeholders efficiently and effectively. Directs, leads, and coordinates team members including other project managers, business and technology resources, user groups, consultants, and contractors, as well as vendors
- Ensures alignment between values and behaviors that fosters diversity and inclusion
- Connects work to company’s purpose, sets aspirational goals, defines expected outcomes, and ensures clear accountability in order to improve efficiency
- Understand any interdependencies and potential concerns between squads and releases
- Identifies release risks/issues and establishes mitigation plans to resolve identified items
- Ensures submission and approval of Change Requests for Change Authorization Board (CAB) meeting from all teams involved in a release
- Prepare release fallback approach and ensure approach is certified by QA
- Resolve any problems on environment matrix usage for Functional Integration Test (FIT), System Integration Test (SIT), User Acceptance Test (UAT) and Dry Run
- Run availability and status of release environments
- Ensure Release Notes are prepared and published
- Supervising release key performance indicators and providing status updates to management
- Function as a gate keeper to ensure all Production changes follow release and change governance
- Continuously look for improvements in release and change process
**Qualifications**:
- 5+ years’ experience in Release Management with deep understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Coordinate across multiple teams to ensure release plans are completed safely, on time, and on schedule
- Project management experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in driving appropriate and timely stakeholder management
- Demonstrate a high level of motivation, be detailed oriented, quick to learn, and the ability to execute with high quality and mínimal supervision
- Learn from failure and tenaciously seek improvement in all areas of the release process.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration
