**JOB TITLE**:Temporary Social Worker
**LOCATION**:Brantford, ON

Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 28,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk, as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. **Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in Social Work is required; verification of post-secondary education (degree or original transcript) will be required
- Registered member of Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers in good standing is required
- An understanding of evidence based mental health promotion, prevention, interventions for children and youth is preferred
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and assessments to support crises, traumatic events, risk and postvention for students, staff and families is preferred
- Knowledge of counselling modalities effective with children and youth is preferred
- Understanding of trauma informed practices is preferred
- Experience with in-person and virtual support for children and youth
- Experience working in schools is preferred
- Knowledge of local community resources and system navigation is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively is required
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team is required
- Reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license is required
- Must be proficient in the use of computers

**Job Specifications**

**Hours of Work**
- 35 hours per week**Rate of Pay**
- Hiring Range $82,455 to $91,858 starting salary. based on full-time, 35 hours per week
Salary Range $82,455 to $96,562 annual salary based on full time, 35 hours per week.
A competitive benefits plan is available through a provincial benefits trust plan (extended health, dental, life insurance, AD&D).
