Big Erics is proud to be a leading distributor of both commercial and residential supplies, equipment, small wares, and industrial chemicals for the food service, janitorial, sanitation, confectionary, manufacturing, and discerning residential sectors in Atlantic Canada.
Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Procurement, the Replenishment Specialist will be responsible for working closely with the Procurement & Sales Teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness in planning and purchasing merchandise. This role connects very closely with many other departments, particularly the Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales, and Finance. Strong communication skills and the ability to quickly build positive relationships are essential in this role.

With our continuous evolution, we are currently looking for a full-time Replenishment Specialist working out of our office in Nova Scotia or Newfoundland. This role runs on a flexible hybrid approach with the possibility of returning to the office full-time.

What you’ll be doing will include the following (as and when required):
- Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
- Perform buying duties when necessary.
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and departments originating requests.
- Calculate costs of orders, and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.

- Maintain knowledge of all organizational and governmental rules affecting purchases, and provide information about these rules to organization staff members and vendors.
- Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
- Check shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and that goods meet specifications.
- Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
- Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
- Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Monitor in-house inventory movement and complete inventory transfer forms for bookkeeping purposes.
- Compare suppliers' bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy.
- Locate suppliers, using sources such as catalogs and the internet, and interview them to gather information about products to be ordered.
- Monitor contractor performance, recommending contract modifications when necessary.
- Prepare invitation-of-bid forms, and mail forms to supplier firms or distribute forms for public posting.
**Requirements**:
- Preferably a Bachelor’s degree or Certificate / Courses in Supply Chain or Purchasing Management
- Experience in high-volume, fast-paced distribution systems with multiple warehouses would be advantageous
- Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
- Punctual and dependable with a willingness to learn and a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Must be able to clear the on-screen test at the time of the interview.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and provide proof of full vaccination.
**Work hours**:
- Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; There may be a need to work occasional evenings and weekends.
