**Scope**

The Migrant Worker Support Program (MWSP) on call counsellor is responsible for promoting the MWSP program to temporary foreign workers arriving to Pearson International Airport. The MWSP on call counsellor is responsible for increasing migrant workers’ awareness and understanding of their rights and responsibilities as well as providing information on Polycultural, community and government services. The MWSP on call counsellor is responsible for meeting assigned targets, meeting and greeting temporary foreign workers (TFWs), help with charter flights.

On call counsellors must be able to work flexible schedules/hours based on needs of incoming flight which includes early morning, evening and weekend work. On call hours will vary from 0-20 hours per week and are not guaranteed.

**Responsibilities**
- Client outreach at airport arrivals and within trans-border doors.
- Proactively raise awareness of MWSP among TFWs and ensure they are aware of available supports. Provide TFWs with comprehensive information on services available under MWSP.
- Provide orientation to migrant workers and their families regarding their rights and responsibilities while living and working in Canada.
- Preparation and distribution of welcome packages to TFWs.
- Assist clients during emergency situations and provide support as needed, (i.g. lost documents, lost luggage, unable to connect with Canadian employer, etc.)
- Work in collaboration with other teams, government and community agencies.
- Must meet targets set by Program Coordinator.
- Manage client needs with respect and empathy
- Perform other duties as required

**Qualifications**
- Post secondary education in marketing or community services, or a combination of experience and education that fulfills the requirements is preferred
- Experience working with newcomer communities (preferred)
- Ability to speak French or Spanish is required
- Knowledge of human services sector and services offered to migrant workers in Ontario (preferred)
- Familiarity with issues facing migrant workers (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently with mínimal supervision
- Ability to lift 8-10 Kgs
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality and attendance

**Other requirements**
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check (completed when offer is made)
