Invigilator

The task of the WLIC Academic team and the invigilation team is to ensure that WLIC final examinations run as smoothly and efficiently as possible and in accordance with the College’s Final Exam regulations.

**You will need**:

- The ability to work as part of a team
- To work efficiently under direction
- A good understanding of the examination process, regulations and protocol, and able to deal with difficult or urgent situations
- Excellent communication skills - a high standard of spoken English is essential
- Be numerate and able to read numbers quickly and accurately

**You will be**:

- Discreet
- Respectful of confidentiality
- Punctual, reliable and flexible

As the title suggests, invigilators are expected to be vigilant at all times in the examination rooms, including online examination rooms, so you will not be able to bring reading or other materials for use during your shift. Please note that this applies to all shifts in all venues. Please note that invigilating can be physically demanding.

**Dates and Shifts Details**:

- This is an on-call position for the date that we need support for exam invigilation or Academic Accommodations.
- Shift times can range from 2 -3 hours located in Brantford, Ontario.
- Invigilators can work no more than two exams per day.
- All invigilators will be required to attend a compulsory training session prior to the start of the examination season. We regret we cannot offer work to those who have not attended one of our training sessions.

**Duties and Renumeration**
- Ensuring compliance with the regulations on the conduct of examinations for online examinations or academic accommodations
- Invigilate and oversee exams on Zoom and communicate with the Instructor if any issues or questions arise.
- Follow Instructor exam instructions and directions
- Rate of pay is $16.55 per hour

**Eligibility**:

- Applications are welcome from all sections of the community.
- Must be able to get to the examination rooms, or office for online exams on time and be punctual and reliable. Repeated lateness or unreliability will not be tolerated.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must not be sitting in any examinations at WLIC during the examination period.
