The Operations Financial Analyst will partner with the Operations leaders to provide support and analysis related to financial performance of their respective department. You will also be a key liaison with our Finance Team on budgets, forecasts, month end reviews and year end audits. You will maintain a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation, in collaboration with other departments such as IT and People Experience, to ensure all practices are efficient and standardized across all operations departments and reporting of critical data is ongoing and accurate. You will work with the Operations Administration Planning and Analysis team to establish a collaborative working environment, ongoing cross training among team members and ensure well documented procedures. This will lead to increased internal customer satisfaction through clarity of processes, improved data and reporting, and better business decision making.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Co-ordinate the yearly budget process preparation with all operating departments and liaison with the Finance team and lead review sessions. Co-ordinate all quarterly forecast updates within a fiscal year to ensure all changes for impacted departments have been captured and properly updated in the financials and communicated to management.
- Facilitate operational month-end reviews for all operating departments and follow up on any financial changes with the leaders and Finance. Provide responses and feedback to Finance related requests and questions regarding month end results. Prepare period end variance analysis for all operating departments with explanations.
- Ad hoc in-depth business analysis related to procurement, payroll, and cost of goods - review of trends, business reasons and opportunities.
- Review of Yellow Dog Inventory System (daily, weekly, monthly) to ensure inventory being properly tracked and reported, reviewing, and investigating variances related to inventory or costing and ensuring they are corrected and understood.
- Review of Squirrel POS system to ensure recording and reporting of sales is correct.
- Lead on the creation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of Tableau dashboards and related reporting tools (ex. weekly SSRS reports, Squirrel IQ) to ensure management has the tools to make timely decisions related to the business.
- Assist with training and education of management on all matters related to financial statements and processes to ensure they can incorporate it into their daily management of the business. Cross train with other team members in the Operations Administration Planning and Analysis group to ensure overall understanding of all areas of the team, how your role integrates within the team and create redundancy of knowledge.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- CPA or equivalent accounting designation
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in roles that provide support to multiple departments and collaborates cross-functionally with other team members
- Experience working with an integrated POS and inventory management system (preferably Squirrel, Yellow Dog and D365)
- Advanced knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Advanced knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills to interact with various levels of management within Operations and supporting departments such as People Experience, Information Technology, and Finance and ensure accuracy in information that is reported
