Animal Care Attendant

Job tasks will include cleaning (i.e. some combination of cages, litter boxes, water and food bowls, bedding, floors), and feeding cats. Grooming and administering medications may also be required.
Applicants must be animal lovers, self-starters, observant, patient, kind, and in reasonable physical condition (able to lift 40 pounds). Actual duties and hours will be determined based upon the best fit between the shelter and the individual. The shelter is on a bus route in the McCall area (just east of Deerfoot Trail, between McKnight Blvd. and 32 Ave NE). Parking is available.
This is a Canada Summer Jobs sponsored position. Applicants do not have to be students, but must be:
- Between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period, which will extend from the start date to August 30, 2025 (up to 9.3 weeks maximum).
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Projection Act for the duration of the employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible participants.
As an animal care attendant, you will be contributing to the health and welfare of all of the cats at the shelter.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9.3 weeks
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
