**Job Overview**

We are a local gardening specialist, and so while some project work may occur (i.e. new garden installs) the focus of the work is on garden maintenance including pruning, deadheading, weeding, mulching, plant relocation / thinning, and other gardening tasks.
- *NOTE: This is a seasonal opportunity from March - December 2025, with a strong likelihood of being rehired in 2026 and onwards._

**Duties and Tasks**:

- A variety of skills included with gardening & landscaping, leadership for a team of 3-4 gardeners, communication, training, customer service, managing workflow, driving a pickup truck.
- Tracking client lists, tracking on-site billable hours.
- Working within client gardens (weeding, pruning, raking, mulching, edging, blowing).
- Ensure ongoing quality work by gardening team.
- Communicating regularly with GM about team needs and challenges.
- Participating in ongoing training and development.

**Key Objectives**:

- Maintain a positive relationship with the team and clients.
- Contribute to positive brand recognition within the Comox Valley.
- Consistently deliver high quality gardening services to both residential and commercial clients.
- Deliver the smooth operations of a crew from March 3 - Nov 28, 2025

**Resources, Budgets or Staff Responsibilities**:

- Manage individual client budgets and ensure work remains within the client-prescribed budgets (where applicable).
- Track work hours on-site in a clear, concise format to the quarter hour.
- Ensure staff act responsible and professional on client properties.
- Be the interface between your team and clients.
- Take care of company tools and equipment (including vehicles); notify owners immediately if additional care is required for tools and equipment.

**Reporting Lines & Training**:

- The Team Lead will have a gardening team of 2-4 people daily.
- This position reports into the general manager(s) and owners of Lavenders Blue.
- In-person, at various client locations around the Comox Valley. A company truck is provided for use during work hours.
- Training and development opportunities will be provided both initially and ongoing.

**Qualifications**:

- Certificate or Diploma in horticulture (or related field) preferred, with minimum 2 years experience.
- Membership with Comox Valley Horticulture Society an asset.
- Previous experience running a crew an asset.
- Effective communication skills.
- Valid BC Drivers license class 5.
- Valid First Aid.

**Salary & Benefits**:

- This position is paid hourly.
- The salary range for this position is between $27-$35/hr, depending on credentials and experience.
- The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00pm-4:30pm.
- The season runs from March 3- November 28, 2025

Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
