Reporting to Product Line Supervisor, the Product Technician/Assistant is responsible for various system tasks that support production and business functions within Dynamics AX. The incumbent will support the Product Development Group.
- Assists with the development for new and existing products, specifications, patterns, and grade rules as per customer requirements.
- Liaises with the Special Project Team (SPT) and other departments to bring a product to market including designing or modifying new or existing patterns, developing cut lists and instructions to ensure manufacturability
- Works with SPT team members in the transition of products from design concept/first prototype to a final, production-ready sample; monitors prototype samples for fit, quality, and execution
- Ensures products are developed in a manner consistent within established quality standards and design/fit specifications
- Facilitates product introduction into manufacturing while maintaining high quality standards
- Works with Sales, Customer Service, and Manufacturing to develop aggressive timelines for new and existing product development and market research
- Works with the Cutting team to review and resolve any cutting or layup issues and relays information and/or suggestions to Production Supervisor and SPT
- Assists in developing best practices to optimize product development procedures and identifies areas of improvements, concerns, and make recommendations to the Department Manager
- Oversees the measuring of customers for custom vests and trains SPT team members
- Supports internal departments (i.e. Manufacturing, SPT, Sales etc ) by providing training on products as required
- Efficiently communicates any changes made to product designs to internal departments such as Production, Customer Service, Sales, and Operations etc
- Assists with product material research and sourcing to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met and best pricing
- Processes new entries for product parts as required
- Provide back up support for various processes relating to customer orders, including but not limited to inventory transactions, releasing orders to production, and completing orders after shipment
- Supports various areas of production and processes orders and parts through transactions within Dynamics AX as needed
