Norwood is hiring 2 full-time commodity Buyers to join out team.

This opportunity will enable you to build strong business relationships with suppliers and understand the most cost-effective ways to manage inventory across the network.

**About Norwood**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers of assigned commodities
- Ensure that vendor pricing in purchase orders and in the software systems accurately reflect actual costs
- Receive and track order acknowledgement, update and maintain ETA in ERP
- Monitor supplier shipments and receipts to ensure material arrives within anticipated deadline
- Manage non-compliance issues with suppliers, request and monitor corrective action when necessary
- Communicate with Supply Chain and Operations regarding any material or component delay that will impact schedules and or customer delivery dates
- Assist the Procurement Manager in the analysis of material usage trends, market condition changes, alternate vendor supply options and vendor lead-time changes.
- Develop new and existing suppliers to meet rapidly changing needs
- Negotiate price, credit terms, and discounts with suppliers
- Reconcile and resolve vendor invoicing issues with suppliers on behalf of the accounts department.
- Ensure alignment with the overall departmental goals and objectives
- Other related duties, as required

**Requirements**:

- 5+ years’ experience in a Buyer role
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes & equipment
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, and Word
- Superior organizational skills
- Strong Communication, and time management skills
- Experience working in an ERP system
- Work independently as well as contributing to a team environment
- Certificate in Supply Management is considered an asset
