**Key Role Objective**
The Business and Operations Lead will support the ‘Evidence’, “Oncology Outcomes Research”, “Data Excellence”, and “External Scientific Partnerships” Teams to lead financial budgets for specific Tumor Teams at Global level. This role would be accountable for all systems support for evidence generation activities, aligned by Tumors which would include PLANIT, ACCORD, ABACUS, Evidence Connect, and Veeva Clinical Vault.
Responsible for the implementation and sharing of continuous improvement activities within the Planisware environment and ensuring efficiency improvements are embedded as standard methodology within the Planisware toolset and other key systems as appropriate.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Act as a point of contact between management and partners for all budget and system related questions, within OBU, the Medical Network and broader AZ
- Provide budget management support across several Tumors
- Responsible for Maintenance of Study Progression (flagging key milestones and budget changes)
- Lead PLANISWARE Project Plans (Costs forecasts & Study templates)
- Lead Performance Planning & Control meetings, ensuring Global stakeholder interactions
- Understand financial planning systems and processes, able to coordinate project
- and study-level budget estimates, handle actual vs. plan
- Responsible for collaboration with relevant OBU partners and Project Leaders in identifying and disseminating cross-project learning from review of PLANISWARE data at plan generation, replanning, option planning and project closure
- Supervise compliance and quality of the budget-related data for clinical studies and activities and ensure that activity durations and budget forecasts are consistent with study delivery targets, completion of landmark dates etc. This will include identifying, sharing and leveraging of good practice to achieve improvement, and providing reports for cross-functional review of progress
- Be actively involved in review and development of short & long-term strategy in area of accountability and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of all developments which may affect the organization’s operations and policies and proactively advising customers of all relevant matters to achieve business requirements and objectives
- Drive financial performance and business activity, deliver and communicate reports, advise senior management on key drivers, and inform the Medical Planning process
- Develop reliable operational and financial forecasts ensuring budget is allocated to improve value creation and deliver a robust Medical Plan.
**Essential Requirements**
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels in various geographies
- Strong work ethics and high integrity standards
- Project Management knowledge and experience
- 3- 5 year experience from within the pharmaceutical industry or similar large multinational organization
- High level knowledge/awareness of the overall pharmaceutical product development process, including stages of development and role of different functional areas.
- Experience in working on a cross functional team in a matrix organization
**Desirable**
- MBA or advanced degree in Business/Finance
