**Job Overview**
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is ultimately responsible for ensuring that all machines operate properly and safely. Typical day to day duties include repairing and maintaining machinery, interpreting blueprints, and installing equipment. The Manufacturing Maintenance Tech possesses in-depth knowledge of hydraulics, belt systems, motors, and other industrial machine mechanisms essential for job procedures.

**Duties**
- Execute preventative maintenance and condition monitoring
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs including labour hours and preventative maintenance findings; and provide analysis and suggestions on maintenance frequency
- Evaluate, prepare, and execute personal preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
- Troubleshoot/repair/install processing equipment; use knowledge of electrical to allow for efficient repair/replacement results
- Plan, organize & perform assigned tasks in sequence with minimum supervision & direction
- Assist the production lines with changeovers and set ups
- Identify and report hazards and fulfill all Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, and company policy requirements
- Assess/repair facility breakdowns, i.e., plumbing, doors, floors, etc.
- Become an active participant and contributor to the continuous improvement process at Orion Cordage
- Communicate effectively with team leader(s), others on the maintenance team, and other associates throughout the plant
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing machine repair work
- Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatics and hydraulics, pipefitting, welding; and hands on experience with high-speed machines required
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, OEM manuals and related technical data
- Must own a full complement of proper tools to perform tasks
- Must be self-motivated and eager to learn with a high level of attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills
- Millwright, Millwright apprentice, and Electrical skills are an asset
- Must be capable of heavy lifting - Up to 50 lbs
- Strong physical dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Able to stand for long periods of time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
