**Day in the Life**

As a service specialist, you’ll be the face of Grill Hero at customers’ homes—performing high-quality fireplace servicing and delivering exceptional customer service. But you're more than just a technician: you're a trusted advisor. You’ll use your product knowledge and people skills to confidently recommend services, parts, and upgrades that improve the customer’s fireplace. **What We Expect**:
**Core Responsibilities**
- Install, service, and repair gas, wood, pellet, and electric fireplaces in residential and commercial locations.
- Perform chimney and venting inspections to identify blockages, cracks, or fire hazards.
- Clean and maintain fireplaces, chimneys, and venting systems in compliance with NFPA 211 and local codes.
- Conduct safety checks, leak testing, and ignition system troubleshooting for gas appliances.
- Provide detailed reports of inspections, maintenance, and repair work performed.
- Educate customers on proper fireplace use, safety practices, and maintenance schedules.
- Recommend additional services or parts replacement as needed.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Follow company safety policies and industry best practices at all times.

**Sales & Customer Growth**:

- Proactively educate customers on the value of service plans, rebookings, and additional services.
- Build rapport and trust to support the closing of on-site sales.
- Represent the Grill Hero brand with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity.

**Qualifications**:

- Prior experience as a fireplace installer, chimney sweep, or gas technician.
- Strong knowledge of combustion safety and venting requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Excellent attention to detail and safety compliance.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in tight or elevated spaces.

**Required Certifications & Training**
- WETT Certification (Wood Energy Technology Transfer - required in Canada for wood-burning appliances).
- Gas Technician License (G2/G1 in Ontario - required for gas appliances).
- NFPA 211 Familiarity (chimneys, fireplaces, vents, and solid-fuel burning appliances).
- First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

**Job Type**

**Compensation**:

- Starting pay range of $30-$60/ hour (Hourly pay increases are commensurate with industry-standard certifications)
- Mileage incurred during operations is compensated on top of hourly pay
