**As part of the Java Group, Victor Energy staff have over 50 years of experience building some of Canada’s largest electrical infrastructure projects. We are hiring a Horizontal Directional Driller Locator to join our construction team.**

This position is field-based in the Edmonton area.

**Responsibilities**:

- Experience operating Vermeer 20/22 or 10/15
- Mob, set up, tear down, demob drilling equipment to site
- Perform daily pre-trip, log book, equipment check list paperwork
- Change drill tooling, mix fluids, etc.
- Ensure all paperwork is properly completed and kept up to date.
- Safe operation of directional drill unit, locator and other tooling required for installation of shallow utilities.
- Using both hand tools and power tools such as tampers, saws, shovels, rakes, tampers, etc., to assist in directional drilling.
- Participate in daily safety meetings
- Assist in identifying and correcting worksite hazards.
- Read locates for water, gas, and other underground services.
- Complete daily production reports, drill logs.
- Work to ensure safe drilling guidelines are met.
- Wear all Personal Protective Equipment as required by client, legislation or company policy.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years horizontal directional drilling experience
- Class 1 (preferred) or Class 3 license
- Physically fit and able to bend, kneel, climb, and lift (up to 50 lbs).
- At least 1 year experience operating directional drills and locators (Ditch Witch, Subsite, DigiTrack).
- Experience working with shallow utility installations is preferred.
- Firm understanding of underground locates.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a team environment.

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:
