Journeyperson Plumber/gasfitter

A.K. & Company (Kenora) Ltd. is looking to hire skilled and experienced Residential Services Plumbers and Plumbers with commercial experience to join our team of professionals. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining plumbing systems in homes, cottages and businesses and installing plumbing systems on various commercial projects. Your expertise and professionalism will play a crucial role in ensuring the satisfaction, safety and comfort of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics to identify plumbing issues and effectively communicate findings to clients
- Conduct repairs, replacements, and installations of plumbing fixtures, pipes, fittings, pumps, and appliances such as sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and more
- Collaborate with clients to discuss repair and installation options
- Adhere to local plumbing codes and regulations, ensuring all work meets required standards and passes inspections
- Complete work orders, maintain and update records of work performed, including detailing the nature of the issue, actions taken, and materials used
- Respond to emergency plumbing situations promptly and effectively, offering solutions to mitigate damage and ensure client safety
- Continuously expand your knowledge of plumbing techniques, emerging technologies, and industry best practices
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional demeanor, addressing client concerns, and leaving workspaces clean and organized
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate schedules, share expertise, and enhance overall team performance
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal apprenticeship program or vocational training in plumbing is preferred
- Valid plumbing license/certification in accordance with local regulations
- Solid understanding of plumbing codes, regulations, and safety practices
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that may require bending, kneeling, and reaching
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Apprentices with experience are encouraged to apply
- Successful applicants must reside in the Kenora area, or be willing to relocate
- Certification in gas fitting (G1 or G2) would be an asset
