Purchaser -- Heavy Duty Truck Parts

We currently have an opening for the role of Purchaser based out of our southside Calgary branch. The Purchaser analyzes inventories and the market and works with Parts Managers and vendors to find ways to reduce acquisition costs and take advantage of new opportunities.

This role requires a unique combination of technical heavy duty truck parts knowledge, analytical skills, relationship building, and negotiation. The person filling the role will need to be highly organized, personable, and experienced in the world of heavy-duty parts.

**Duties include, but are not limited to**:

- Analyze inventory and sales data to identify opportunities to buy better
- Gather market information from the sales team and other sources
- Develop databases of best buy opportunities from various vendors
- Collaborate with the Parts Managers to identify new bulk purchasing opportunities
- Identify alternate product or vendors that may provide similar or better value
- Work with vendors and vendor programs (particularly PACCAR Parts) to buy more intelligently
- Receive purchasing authorization, create purchase orders, place orders with vendors
- Work on logistics to have product arrive at the right places at the right times
- Oversee the bulk buy warehouse inventory to ensure proper costing and storage of parts
- Process vendor invoices and submit to Accounting
- Process branch orders from the bulk buy warehouse
- Source hard to find parts
- Participate in inventory controls and invoice processing for all inventories
- Provide analysis and reporting to the VP Operations

**What we are looking for**:

- Journeyman Parts Technician or equivalent
- Purchasing and logistics experience
- CDK and PACCAR Parts experience will bring your resume to the top
- High level knowledge of heavy-duty parts, warehousing, and dealership processes
- The ability to properly represent a “Class Pays” organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work professionally with diverse personalities
- A positive “can do” attitude that contributes to a positive workplace culture
- Technologically savvy, embracing new systems with optimism
- Previous dealership experience is an asset
- Highly organized, safety focused, and professional
