Dispatcher - Abbotsford Evening Shift

Based in Abbotsford, our small, friendly and fast-paced office is looking for a positive team player to join us as a full time Dispatcher working on average 35 hrs/week.
We operate 7 days/week, 6 am to midnight, and this role will be on a 4 days on/4 days off rotational shift working from 2 pm to midnight.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Allocate and pre-allocate jobs to crews efficiently and accurately
- Ensure crews receive breaks throughout their shift
- Monitor traffic and road conditions and suggest alternate routes
- Assign ferry jobs/long haul jobs and ensure that crew and vehicle is prepared
- Coordinate vehicle swaps and servicing with Fleet
- Respond to crew questions in a timely manner
- Complete all required paperwork
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Can manage high stress situations and remain calm, patient, respectful
- Very organized and able to multi-task effectively
- Thinks outside the box and can problem solve quickly and creatively
- Strong geographical knowledge of the lower mainland
- Great team player that is supportive and helpful to co-workers in a stressful environment and provide a high-level customer service
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, computer literate with good keyboarding skills
- Comfortable working independently
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in a customer service role
- Experience in the health care field is an asset
