**LINC Instructor**
**(**Part-time, Contract until March 31, 2026**)**
CCS is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or immigration status.
We are searching for a part-time LINC Instructor responsible to teach English to newcomer learners in line with the Canadian language benchmarks.

**W**hat you will be doing**:
- Teach a daily class in compliance with Canadian Language Benchmarks
- Design and provide professional, appropriate and motivational short and long-term lesson plans consistent with accepted teaching methods and the needs and level of the class
- Create lesson plans that are outcome based and have identified measurement processes
- Maintain clear and accurate records of students’ achievements and outcomes
- Incorporate a variety of learning materials into lesson plans to meet different learning styles
- Orient students to portfolios as a learning and assessment tool (PBLA)
- Develop and maintain an anti-bias classroom atmosphere where participants feel welcome and interested in learning Combine classroom teaching with computer instruction;
- ESL educational software
- Ensure ongoing attendance and active participation of learners each day
- Collaborate with other CCS staff to ensure LINC participants have access to the full suite of available settlement services
- Complete administrative duties such as client registration and orientation, attendance records, monthly reports and statistical information as required
**What are we looking for?**
- TESL Certificate from a recognized institution and ongoing membership with TESL Ontario or TESL Canada
- Previous successful experience (minimum 3 years) teaching ESL or LINC at various levels
- Excellent lesson planning skills
- Demonstrated experience working with adults of diverse cultural backgrounds
- Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills, and second language relevant to the community is an asset
**Location**:1200 Markham Road, Scarborough, ON
**Compensation**: $39.07 to $43.48 based on experience
**Hours of work**: 3.5 hours/day, 5 days per week
