Inferno Solar Ltd. is an Alberta-based, family-owned solar company. We install solar systems that make a difference - hundreds and thousands of panels at a time. Our goal is to provide Clean Energy Solutions for Canadians, and we feel the commercial sector is key to doing this as it has the highest impact for the lowest input cost.

Our projects are on commercial buildings - flat roofs and sheet metal roofs, in Calgary, Edmonton, and smaller cities and towns across Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan. We are also expanding our capabilities to include expertise in EV charging, battery storage, and LED lighting upgrades.

We are hiring a motivated **Design & Drafting Technician **who wants to learn and grow in the clean energy industry. This is a full-time position based out of our Edmonton office.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- **Coordinate with stamping engineer and PM** (progress updates, ensuring deliverables are done in timely fashion, learning Inferno design principles, executing design changes from PM or engineer)
- **Balancing the execution of multiple parts of multiple projects within tight deadlines **(excel at prioritization, quick turnarounds, be flexible)
- **Prepare typical drawing packages** (Site Plan, SLD, Spec, Inverter Detail, Stringing)
- **Prepare non-typical drawings **(TPF overlay, Rapid Shut Down scheme, Protection overlays, Elevations and Sections, Base Rail overlay, various Details)
- **Solar Design **(creating arrays that conform to Inferno Design Principles, site conditions and install team inputs; determining ideal inverter, cable tray, and walkway locations, review, identify issues and integrate solar design into the latest base building drawing revisions)
- **Preliminary electrical design **(conduit & cabling sizing, overcurrent sizing, voltage drop, bus sizing, tray & conduit fill, equipment spacing, cable routing, etc.)
- **Critically review drawings** **prior to package issue **(each plot reviewed and green-lined)

**Secondary Accountabilities**:

- Improve company processes and quality of finished product
- Provide value by keeping good records, ensure drawings are simple and executable, keeping folder system well organized and clear of clutter
- Prepare natural looking 3D renderings using isometric photography in various lighting conditions

**Qualifications Required**:

- Electrical Engineering Technologist
- 2+ years of electrical design, drafting, and 3D modelling in Revit
- Experience with designing to meet Canadian Electrical Code is essential
- Software savvy - ability to use software to your advantage for efficiency, including navigating the Microsoft Office suite

**Differentiators**:

- AutoCAD Design Certificate, Autodesk Certified Associate or higher certification is an asset, or experience in lieu
- Knowledge in commercial building, roofing, mechanical and electrical construction methods
- Knowledge of electrical codes, solar design best practices, and applicable legislation
