**Durham OneNet Inc.**, is a newly established Municipal Services Corporation wholly owned by the Regional Municipality of Durham. Our mission is to extend our fibre broadband network to underserved areas of Durham Region to enable improved broadband connectivity to residents, businesses and institutions while delivering improved Regional services and driving economic development and innovation across Durham Region.

**Chief Financial Officer**

Reporting to the President, you will:

- Provide leadership, coordination and preparation of all aspects of financial monitoring, reporting, budgeting and requests for funding for Durham OneNet
- Establish overall financial and administrative controls
- Provide expert advice and leadership on matters relating to finance, accounting, audit, funding, purchasing, identifying and managing risk, compliance and insurance requirements
- Establish and monitor monthly financial statements and lead accounting, payroll and purchasing functions through partnerships with the Region of Durham
- Build, hire and manage a lean agile finance team
- Develop budgets, forecasts and results for submission and presentation to the President and the Board
- Collaborate with department heads and the President in new business development with both private and public sector organizations
- Develop and provide strategic business case reviews for network expansion, including working with Municipal, University and College, School Boards and Hospital (MUSH) sector and various other private sector service providers

**About You**:

- A minimum of 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in finance and accounting preferably in a CFO role from the technology, broadband or telecommunications service provider or related sectors.
- A Canadian CPA recognized designation would be an asset
- Experience in financial planning and analysis with any capital intensive business is also welcome
- Experience with public sector accounting, strong working capital management and building of processes and controls
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, business planning and analysis, budget and tax return preparation and monitoring
- Experience building three statement models from ground up
- A confident, collaborative and high-energy individual who has strong business acumen working in an entrepreneurial environment building and scaling a business from the ground-up
- Strategic planning and analytical expertise combined with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, well-established verbal, written communication abilities and presentation skills
- Efficient and proven management style with the ability to prioritize and plan complex undertakings with a wide range of stakeholders
