**Details**:Full-Time, Days, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

**Pay Scale**:$23.25 - $31.50 per hour

**Location**:Central Services 14220 - 109 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB, T5N 4B3_(travel between other GEF sites is required, mileage paid)_

As a Shop Maintenance Worker, you will play a vital role in maintaining the the efficiency and safety of our warehouse and shop operations.

**Typical Duties**:

- Efficiently load, unload, and move products and materials using material handling equipment as required.
- Skillfully load and unload household appliances and furniture onto and from moving trucks or vans.
- Utilize trucks, tractors, and essential equipment to transport materials efficiently within the shop premises.
- Proficiently operate a skid-steer loader to effectively remove snow.
- Assist in inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking of supplies and materials, and making minor purchases when needed.
- Conduct daily inspections of the building systems and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns.
- Collaborate with skilled trade persons, when required, to troubleshoot and address maintenance issues related to electrical, plumbing, or other systems.
- Maintain a neat and orderly workspace, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment for all staff members.
- Ensure that security and safety measures are in place in the establishment**.**:

- Capable of relocating heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the shop and its equipment.

**Experience/Education Preferences**:

- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written is required
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Previous work experience in a similar occupation or applicable education is desired
- Plumbing & HVAC Experience is desired
- Familiarity with material handling equipment and warehouse machinery.
- Ability to operate trucks and other relevant equipment safely and efficiently
- Must have valid Class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract
- Skid steer operation training is an asset.
- Forklift operation training is an asset.
- Strength in determining priorities with the need for flexibility
- Ability to meet deadlines and respond calmly to stressful situations

**Other Requirements**:

- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner.

**The successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal record check and be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.**
