**Who are we?**

WAAS Aerospace Inc. has been in operation since 2014 and is a Transport Canada approved maintenance company. We operate from facilities located on the south shore of Montreal at Saint-Hubert Airport (CYHU) and in Quebec City at Jean-Lesage International Airport (CYQB).

We provide line and scheduled maintenance, avionics modifications and research and development services for business and wide-body aircraft. We offer 24/7 Aircraft on Ground (AOG) services to help customers meet their on-time departure obligations and minimise downtime.

Our parent company, Chrono Aviation, was founded in Quebec City in 2012. In its early days, the company operated a Pilatus PC-12 and employed two pilots. Today, the Chrono Aviation group has a fleet of 15 aircraft and a team of 280 employees.

**Role and context**

Under the supervision of the Assistant Financial Director, the Accounting Technician ensures the compliance of the company's accounting data and the sound management of financial resources through rigorous monitoring of operations. They carry out accounting cycle operations and bookkeeping. Their work is carried out in compliance with the company's rules, procedures and policies.

**Key responsibilities**
- Carry out accounting cycle operations to ensure the regularity and reliability of accounting, financial and tax transactions:

- Manage and monitor accounts payable and receivable.
- Invoicing customer accounts.
- Validate the list of accounts receivable, send statements of account and follow up on overdue accounts or accounts in collection.
- Preparing payments and cheques for approval.
- Cash management.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
- Prepares financial statements and closes accounting journals and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and forward reports and documents relating to government grants and rebates (GST/QST).
- Work with the controller to produce financial statements, analyse them and submit recommendations.
- Be available to respond to the various needs of the team.
- Documenting files and developing procedures and work tools to facilitate task completion and follow-up.

- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
- Rapidly develop a good understanding of operations so as to be able to produce management reports tailored to management needs
- Taking great care

**Specific job requirements**
- A DEP, AEC or DEC in accounting
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar position.
- Have an intermediate command of English
- Excellent knowledge of Word and Excel, and a proven ability to learn customised software and tools
