**Schedule**:

- **Regular schedule: Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm**:

- **During training: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm**

**Your mission**:
You will maintain and repair a variety of optical processing equipment, dividing your time between supporting production and performing preventative maintenance. And, for maintaining the building and grounds to ensure they are accessible and maintained in a safe and effective manner.

**Primary responsibilities regarding Building Maintenance**:

- Ensure to maintain and continue operation of mechanical systems such as compressors, chillers, dust collectors, generators, electrical switch gear and ATS.
- In charge of the security system for the Ottawa lab
- Perform general carpentry, plumbing, painting, flooring, office furniture moves and spot cleaning.
- Change light bulbs and ballasts, ceiling tiles, replace carpet tiles as needed
- Monitor conference room furnishings, i.e., inventory chairs, clean white boards, check that supplies are adequate and phones lights... are working
- General maintenance of the building and the outside including the emergency exits, ensuring clean grounds
- Monitor any contractors as needed
- Fill in and/or assist for janitorial vendor as needed
- Moderate to heavy lifting, accepting/delivering of packages when the shipping and receiving department requires assistance

**Primary responsibilities regarding Machine Maintenance**:

- Perform installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing equipment.
- Locate and diagnose failures, replace defective components, and perform basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
- Create/update standard operating procedures, work instructions, etc.
- Inspects and repairs production and support equipment, using mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum technologies.
- Provide guidance, training and direction to an assigned individual, group of employees or team.
- Perform corrective maintenance actions that occur on shift;
- Carry out the preventive maintenance as per assignment;
- Handling assigned work orders and PMs (inspections, oil changes, meter readings, etc.);
- Performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks;
- Handling with incoming work requests;
- Communicating existing and potential issues with the Operational Leadership team;
- Using your CMMS or paper records to log maintenance work;
- Cleaning and maintaining the tools you work with;
- Abiding by different safety measures and policies;
- Recondition defective parts and repair parts that need to be welded;
- Complete work orders after each intervention in the maintenance software;
- Participate in communication during the shift change and transfer of production information;
- Ensure that all repairs are done safely with lockout equipment and that they are safe for other employees during operation hours;
- Ensure that building equipment and production machinery comply with safety standards;
- Participate in various plant improvement projects;
- Be available for major breakdowns that exceed working hours when required;
- Be available for training or scheduled maintenance on weekends;
- Be available in rotation for emergency/on-calls on weekends;
- Respect existing EHS measures;
- Maintain the 5S in the workshop and keep work environment clean during preventive and corrective maintenance;
- Communicating with vendor technical support for failures that require assistance.

All duties to be performed according to the established standard and in compliance with all company policies and procedures while maintaining regular, prompt attendance, availability for overtime and ability to adjust schedule as needed
