Heavy Equipment Operator

A leading heavy civil construction company in the Halifax area operating since 1969 is looking to expand Whether our clients need help on medium or large scale heavy civil construction projects, our team provides the highest level of service, organization, and expertise, which is why we are trusted by some of the largest utility providers in the province for important and emergency work.
We are looking for hard-working, motivated individuals who are willing to grow, work as part of a strong team, and play a key part in a variety of projects for our ever-growing client base. You will have stable work year-round, lots of opportunity to progress in the company and to take on leadership positions.
Basic requirements:
- Skilled and safety minded in equipment operation.
- Ability to work well with others
- Dedicated to safe working conditions for all coworkers
- Effective in time management
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends when needed
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract
**Experience**:
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience as an equipment operator (required)
- Types of heavy equipment operated: backhoe, excavator, loader, and skid-steer
- Trenching; excavating; rough grading; material handling; land clearing; grubbing, excavation; ditching; demolition; backfilling; fine grading
- Experience with trenching on new sewer, storm and water projects is an asset.
- Experience with trenching on sewer, storm and water renewal projects is an asset.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
