Mainland is hiring We are looking for experienced **Operators - Civil Construction**to join our team.

The** Operator** will be responsible for operating any size excavator on our construction sites to support civil sites services in regard to utility and road works

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Work safely in a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings.
- Responsible for daily maintenance and safety inspections of their assigned piece of equipment as outlined in Mainland’s equipment policy
- Responsible for Maintaining pre-trip inspections/activity logs
- Operators are to operate their equipment in a manner as not to cause damage to the equipment or any surrounding structures or impediments and to do so safely to ensure the safety of themselves and others onsite
- Operators are expected to work with the Foreman to perform various tasks including but not limited to, excavations both bulk and/or detailed excavation, utility installations, grading, ditching, sloping etc. in accordance with the project specifications
- Ensure effective communication on progress and any potential issues are brought to the attention of the Foreman/ crew

**Qualifications, Experience & Skill Set**
- Must have min 5 years operating experience operating on civil utility works
- Must be able to understand grading plans/stakes and drawings
- Must possess valid Class 5 Drivers License and be able to travel to sites across region.
- Maintain quality results of work to be done.
- Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues.
- Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individuals.
- Work as a team with other crew members on daily activities of the site.
- Job requires the ability to complete work projects in a efficient and timely manner and adhere to strict schedules, good management and organization skills are essential.
- Understanding of Safety and ability to communicate Safety issues as they arise
- Flexibility with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed.
- Willingness to learn and possibly work across both our divisions (deep excavation and civil site services)
- **Must be local to the Lower Mainland**
