Rapid Response Security Guard

**Securiguard** is currently looking for Rapid Response Guard at Healthcare facilities in Durham Region - Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Port Perry and Bowmanville. As a security guard, you will contribute to the safety and security of patients and all other healthcare stakeholders. Your role will include responding to codes, conducting patrols and providing integral support to healthcare staff. You may also be required to liaise with various law enforcement agencies from time to time. We are looking for licensed security guards with patience, compassion and empathy who want to make a positive impact in the lives of patients and staff. We will provide all additional training including Crisis Management, Effective Communications, Management of Resistant Behaviour, Mental Health Awareness and additional healthcare training. This is a great opportunity for those looking to advance their career in security and law enforcement. **Schedule: FT Days/Nights, continental** **Pay: $18.00-$20.75 **Duties and Responsibilities**: - Monitor entry points and control access to the healthcare facility, verifying credentials and authorizing entry for authorized personnel. - Conduct regular patrols of the facility, including interior and exterior areas, to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security threats. - Respond promptly to security incidents, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and safety hazards. - Follow established protocols for emergency situations, such as lockdown procedures or evacuation drills, to ensure the safety of patients and staff. - Interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a calm and respectful manner, resolving conflicts and addressing concerns to maintain a peaceful environment. - Utilize effective de-escalation techniques to manage volatile situations and prevent escalation to violence. - Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment to detect suspicious activity and potential security breaches. - Document all security-related incidents and observations accurately, completing incident reports and notifying appropriate personnel as necessary. - Collaborate with other healthcare staff, including nurses, physicians, and administrative personnel, to address security concerns and coordinate responses to emergencies. **Requirements**: - Valid Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR certificate - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals in a healthcare environment. - Proven experience as a security guard or in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting. - Excellent observational and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. - Basic computer skills - Ability to walk/stand 12-hour shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. - Ability to complete accurate and detailed report writing, multi-task and work in a fast-paced, demanding environment. - Police Foundations, Community Justice Services or Law Enforcement Diploma would be an asset. - Flexibility to work continental shifts, including weekends, and holidays. **Employee Perks We Offer**: - Award winning corporate culture - Canada's Most Admired Corporate Culture 2021 - Opportunities for advancement and professional development - Paid training - Extended Health and Dental benefits for eligible employees "We are a different kind of employer".
