**Health System Transformation Overview**
The Health System Transformation branch represents the AMA’s interests by supporting physicians in their role as leaders within the health care system. This includes facilitating the development, integration and implementation of innovations in health care delivery by working with and providing support to various provincial health strategic initiatives, including but not limited to advancing the Patient’s Medical Home and integration with the health neighborhood.
**Position Overview**
As the Advisor, Health System Transformation, you will provide support for and/or lead assigned projects and initiatives to ensure HST can meet strategic objectives and achieve desired results and outcomes for members.
In this role, you will:
- Complete research, analyze and synthesize complex information from multiple sources, literature, and/or stakeholders. Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing notes to disseminate information/findings and make recommendations.
- Support member engagement for HST priorities/projects to gather feedback and input from physicians including developing and conducting surveys, facilitating meetings, etc.
- Manage and/or supports work arising from assigned committees and working groups including:
- proactively and intuitively determining work/priorities based on discussions in meetings.
- ensuring a flow of information to appropriate stakeholders.
- completing or assigning tasks/work that arise from meetings.
- Develop and deliver presentations and support the facilitation of discussions, including summarizing complex concepts and materials.
- Continually completes environmental scans, keeping EVP and Senior Consultant updated to ensure HST can be proactive to changes and emerging trends or issues.
**Education and Experience**
- Undergraduate degree in health policy, health administrator, business or related area.
- At least five (5) years of experience of experience in a health care environment completing research, analyzing information, supporting health policy/advocacy initiatives.
- Experience with policy and/or standards development/ management.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Planner etc.) and virtual meeting software (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
- General knowledge and understanding of Alberta healthcare landscape and AMA.
- Experience working with multi-partner committees/working groups.
**Skills**
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Ability to identify audience needs and adapt messaging accordingly.
- Demonstrate well-developed problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Familiar with qualitative methods such as interviews, focus groups, as well as quantitative research methods, including using surveys and other forms of structured data collection.
- Ability to understand complex information, data, literature, policies and procedures, and articulate the information in a meaningful and understandable way to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and effectively reprioritize work to support operational and strategic goals.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the complexities of the Alberta health care system and international systems.
- Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders and show the ability to align critical and strategic thinking to direct project work.
The salary for this role is between $86,246 - $112,121 per annum.
Pay: $86,246.00-$112,121.00 per year
