**OWS Railcar** a company of Mansour Canadian Rail and is looking for a Railway Shop Foreman/Supervisor. **OWS Railcar** leverages its unique capabilities to support customers in the railway industry in such areas as passenger, freight, mining, steel production, forestry, and agriculture**.**
The Railway Shop Foreman/Supervisor role includes acting as the front-line supervisor in a skilled trades, manufacturing, or production operation: a person who plans, organizes, and controls the operations of the shop; supervises, trains and develops staff. The Railway Shop Foreman/ Supervisor will report directly to the Divisional Manager.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Assure the safe performance of duties by their employees in accordance with Safety Policies
- Responsible for safe and efficient repair procedures.
- Instruct and train employees in the repair of railcars in compliance with current Company and Industry standards.
- Foster positive employee relations and ensure conformance to the Company's Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain efficient and productive operation in accordance with Company goals.
- Control expenses related to the location's operations and distribution of labour.
- Assist with repairs when needed.
**REQUIREMENT & QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 5 years + experience and complete understanding of AAR/M-1003-M-1002.
- Knowledge of all mechanical components and safety requirements.
- Strong computer skills required /Excel/Word.
- Strong Welding background preferred.
- Shop purchasing/equipment maintenance experience.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel-toed boots, eye protection, earplugs, gloves, and hot work PPE.
- **Ontario driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.**:
- **MUST be able to successfully pass all required training, background check, and drug and alcohol testing.**
