.Tooling and Maintenance Supervisor - Brampton, ON Position: Tooling and Maintenance Supervisor Location - Brampton, ON Shift timings - 8 am - 4 pm Anticipated start date - ASAP Pay Rate - $100K-$120K Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Operations Manager. You will be responsible for the continuous operation of machinery, equipment and for all aspects of tooling department and equipment and site maintenance. You will be responding to breakdowns and completing scheduled planned maintenance. Working predominantly on power presses and their auxiliary equipment you will be required to have an understanding on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC systems. You will be planning and scheduling ppms for ALL site equipment with your team / contractors **Requirements**: - College or University diploma in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics engineering or technician - Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certificate or demonstrated experience - Management of a busy tooling department - To be able to read and understand engineering drawings - The ability to fault find on electrical and mechanical equipment. - Experience in precision power press tooling and setting. - Trained in Power Press Safety - Experience in high speed production environments. - Computer literate in MS Office and CMMS - Experience in managing teams across various shift patterns - Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects to completion - Manufacturing Knowledge / With a background ideally from Industries such as Injection moulding - Experience for Power presses - Press tooling and dies - Previous experience in food packaging manufacturing environment - Previous metal forming experience. - Understanding of PLC’s - OMRON, Siemens and Mitsubishi. - CAD experience - MS Project Responsibilities - Adhering to all health and safety regulations, perform safety audits of routine and non-routine tasks - Ensure that all tooling is maintained to a high standard to ensure production efficiency. - Ensure that tools are serviced to a high standard and that any issues are identified and rectified. - Maintain and plan tooling refurbishments with external tool makers liaising with the planning department to ensure mínimal disruption. - Ensure the appropriate spare parts are on hand to support production while aiming to improve year on year spend. - Ensuring PPM’s are completed in a timely and satisfactory measure - Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair. - Installation of plant equipment both mechanically and electrically - Effectively use continuous improvement tools to drive plant equipment reliability and performance - Ensure regular contact with the product designer ensuring that any new designs are challenged, clarified and agreed. - Trialling of new tooling ensuring that any defects or issues are identified and fed back to the tool-maker. - Develop continuous improvement strategies. - Continuous close communication with the Shift Managers, tool setters, and operators to support any tool related issues in an efficient manner. - Work closely with the quality dept assisting with customer complaints to determine root cause and corrective actions in order to eliminate reoccurrence. - Helping to develop new maintenance strategies to improve operational efficiencies. - Updating machinery records - Working alongside contractor and suppliers to maintain plant and building systems - Train employees and monitor the quality of their work Expected hours: 40 - 55 per week **Benefits**: - Dental care - Extended health care - Language training provided - Life insurance Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Monday to Friday - Morning shift - Weekends as needed Work Location: In person
