**Working for the Faculty of Nursing**
**Position Summary**
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight of two research projects aimed at measuring and ameliorating trauma in long-term facilities in Alberta. The first project involves a large survey measuring trauma exposure in health care aides in both personal and work environments. The second project involves the co-development and evaluation of a trauma-informed care toolkit in long-term care facilities.
The Project Coordinator will play a critical role in managing the complexities of the various projects. They will oversee high-level project coordination and day-to-day operations, working closely with the principal investigator (PI), members of the TREC team, and various stakeholders. The Project Coordinator will also supervise research assistants, manage research timelines and logistics, and ensure the research activities are implemented effectively. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for budget oversight and research administration tasks. A key responsibility of this role is to foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including care aides, long-term care (LTC) providers, government representatives, and community organizations, to ensure successful project execution and impact.
**Duties**
- Monitor, maintain, and update detailed project timelines and deliverables, ensuring targets are achieved.
- Assist in the development of protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Supervise Research Assistants, including assigning and tracking tasks, performance management and appraisal.
- Track project expenses and ensure compliance with grant funding requirements.
- Assist with budget revisions and financial reporting.
- Assist with other aspects of the project when required, including recruitment, data collection, data analysis and quality management.
- Assist in the preparation of publications, posters, presentations, technical and dissemination reports, and briefings for different stakeholders.
- Maintain relationships with external contractors, partners, stakeholders, and researchers.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- A Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or other related disciplines is required.
- 3-5 years of related project coordination experience in health research settings is mandatory.
- Experience in data collection, management, and quality control in research projects.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Self-directed and highly organized.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with academic and community partners.
- Experience in knowledge translation, including presentations, reports, and dissemination strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic research environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and constructively in a team.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience in long-term care facilities or settings is a definite asset.
- Experience coordinating budgets, financial reporting, and research grants is an asset.
