**Carpenter (General Repair Technician GRT)**

Carpenters (GRT) at On Side rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state GRTs use the skills of carpenters, drywallers, painters and magicians Making clients believe magic has happened is all part of a day for a GRT.

**Responsible for**

The multi-talented GRT is skilled in the following ways:

- Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
- Framing
- Drywalling, mudding, sanding and finishing
- Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim, landscapes, and portraiture not included)
- Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing
- Insulation and vapour barrier installation
- Being awesome, in general
- Installation
- Doors
- Trim, moldings, and baseboards
- Hardware installation
- Cabinetry

**What you bring**

The GRT brings a host of abilities to their work, not the least being a ‘get it done’ attitude. Additional abilities required include:

- Experience working in construction environments
- Tools and the skills to use them
- Strong people and communication skills
- Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
- A safety mindset
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Ability to communicate in English

**Other stuff that’ll help you be successful but isn’t mandatory**:

- Skilled trades ticket (Carpenter, Painter, Cabinetmaker)
- IICRC certification (restoration focus)
- WHMIS
- First Aid

**Of Note**

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

Dans le but de remettre les choses dans l’état où elles étaient avant la catastrophe, les charpentiers-menuisiers utilisent les compétences des charpentiers, des poseurs de cloisons sèches, des peintres et des magiciens Faire croire aux clients que la magie s’est produite fait partie intégrante de la journée d’un charpentier-menuisier.

**Responsabilité**

Le charpentier-menuisier qui possède un talent infini est _compétent_ dans les domaines suivants:

- Réparations de structures en bois de toute nature
- Charpente en aluminium
- Pose de cloisons sèches et finition
- Installation, abattage et texturation de plafonds
- Isolation et installation de pare-vapeur
- Être tout simplement formidable
- Peinture au pinceau et au rouleau (murs, plafonds, boiseries, paysages et portraits non inclus)
- Installation:

- Les portes
- Boiseries, moulures et plinthes
- Installation de la quincaillerie
- Ébénisterie

**Ce que vous apportez**:
Le charpentier-menuisier apporte une foule de compétences à son travail, dont la moindre n’est pas une attitude de « travail bien fait ». Les autres compétences requises sont les suivantes:

- Expérience de travail dans des environnements de construction
- Les cartes CCQ pour Compagnon ne sont pas nécessaires
- Outils et compétences pour les utiliser
- Solides aptitudes en relations humaines et communication
- Attention au détail, passion pour la qualité et fierté du travail accompli
- Un esprit de sécurité
- Permis de conduire valide
- Capacité à passer une vérification du casier judiciaire
