DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not listed in order of priority)

1. Work independently or in larger groups to assist with completion of airport maintenance tasks including snow removal using a variety of airport equipment including tractors, graders, sweepers and smaller utility trucks as well as shoveling, raking, digging and sweeping, etc.

2. Assist with the completion of various activities including runway maintenance, grass cutting, shoulder grading and airport maintenance including signage and lighting repairs, storm water management including ditching and catch basin repairs.

3. Operate a variety of vehicles from smaller utility trucks to large dump trucks and airport equipment as required.

4. Assist with repairs and maintenance on all airport vehicles and equipment as required.

5. Complete all documents as required including work orders, inventory reports and equipment records.

6. Comply with federal, provincial and County occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.

7. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

8. Perform other duties assigned.

**EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS AND CERTIFICATION**:

- Grade 12 or Grade 12 equivalence diploma or commensurate experience.
- A valid DZ or AZ license would be an asset.
- Ability to work without supervision and to make decisions.
- Able to communicate diplomatically with the public on the County Airport

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Related experience as a truck driver, equipment operator, or skilled labourer in either construction road maintenance or airports.
- Experience in winter maintenance of airports or roads is preferred.
- A minimum of four (4) years of heavy equipment experience, including grader operator experience, airport experience preferred.

**EFFORT**:

- Visual and mental effort required when operating equipment for long periods of time, must be aware of surroundings.
- Physical ability to perform as a labourer.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Work is performed out of the Airport garage.
- Will be out on the Airport property in all weather conditions but primarily in inclement weather.
- Occasional requirement to travel within the County of Simcoe.
- Work variable shifts and hours, including weekends and statutory holidays; and overtime, rotating, extended, or irregular shifts in all weather conditions.
