Catastrophe Modeler, Catastrophe Exposure Analysis

**What it’s like to be a Northbridge**

This position is accountable for the complete, consistent, and timely detailed analysis of catastrophe risk data. The incumbent will assist in the coordination and communication of the portfolio-level catastrophe and exposure risk as well as development and support of risk management tools and projects. The Catastrophe Modeler prepares data and results related to policy, sector, and company initiatives that have portfolio-level impact.

**SKILL/BEHAVIOUR REQUIREMENTS**:

- Demonstrated proficiency and resourcefulness in identifying and analyzing relevant data and defining critical issues and alternatives.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary school education in Engineering, Actuarial Science, Geography, Statistics/Math, and/or equivalent on the job experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the property insurance industry.
- Working knowledge of catastrophe modeling products and Geographical Information systems an asset
- Working knowledge of company underwriting philosophy, risk information sources, and computer workflow procedures
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Completion of CCRA, CRM, CSCR or similar Catastrophe Risk Accreditation an asset.
- Completion of CIP, FCIP, or other insurance industry education an asset.

Salary range
- $70,000 - $90,000 for Vancouver, BC.
