**Job Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team.

Due to increasing demand, we’re looking to expand our amazing team of veterinary professionals In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in delivering high-quality care to animals. You will work in a fast-paced environment, assisting with various tasks that ensure the health and well-being of our patients.
**Your duties and responsibilities for the Position of Technician will include, without limitation**:
- Maintain knowledge of preventative healthcare recommendations in order to answer client questions, provide education on vaccines, flea and heartworm products, and assist in marketing veterinary services from which their pet would benefit, such as dental cleaning, dental procedures, senior wellness, spay and neuter and boarding.
- Educate clients on products and medications sold including dietary products and answer questions regarding product purchase/use.
- Calculate drug dosing and having a DVM double check.
- Maintain inventory of controlled substances.
- Clean, maintain and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials.
- Knowledgeable regarding related federal and state animal health laws and regulations including OSHA and WHMIS. Ensure that the hospital and its employees are in compliance with regulations. Inform the veterinary hospital administrator of any regulatory issues.
- Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors, and the practice philosophy.
- Perform other duties assigned
- Obtain and record patient histories.
- Communicate with and educate owners.
Treatment Technician
- Collect specimens and perform routine laboratory procedures and tests in hematology, biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, and serology to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of animal health problems.
- Dispense and administer medications, vaccines, serums and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Administer fluids and blood products as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Provide specialized nursing care for injured or ill animals.
- Assist in diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures using various high-tech diagnostic equipment including electrocardiographic, radiographic and ultrasonographic equipment.
- Take and process radiographs.
- See patients throughout the shift for blood draws, bandage changes, vaccine injections, repeat radiographs, injections, medication refills, and all other technician appointments etc.
- Supporting the other technicians
Surgery Technician
- Administer fluids and blood products as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Administer and monitor anesthesia under the direction of a veterinarian.
- Prepare patients, instruments and equipment for surgery.
- Assure that monitoring and support equipment such as anesthetic machines, cardiac monitors, scopes and breathing apparatus are in good working condition.
- Assist in diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures using various high-tech diagnostic equipment including electrocardiographic, radiographic and ultrasonographic equipment.
**Experience**
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- A passion for animal care and a commitment to providing exceptional service

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
