Job Summary

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct quality inspections on incoming food ingredients, in-process preparation stages, and finished menu items to ensure compliance with Shawarma Royale’s quality standards and food safety regulations.
- Utilize appropriate food safety and sanitation monitoring tools (e.g., temperature probes, checklists) to verify compliance with required standards.
- Analyze inspection data and compile reports to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for operational or hygiene improvement.
- Collaborate with kitchen and operations teams to address quality or safety issues and implement immediate corrective actions where needed.
- Participate in the development and refinement of food safety and quality assurance protocols, aligned with public health standards and internal brand guidelines.
- Accurately document all inspection findings and maintain comprehensive records of quality control activities for internal audits and external inspections.
- Support daily kitchen operations by providing feedback on ingredient freshness, food handling practices, and compliance with Shawarma Royale specifications.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in food quality assurance, food safety auditing, or inspection roles within the restaurant, hospitality, or food manufacturing industry.
- Certified Food Handler (provincial certification, e.g., TrainCan, ServSafe, or equivalent).
- HACCP Certification (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) - recognized by food safety authorities in Canada.
- Familiarity with CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) standards and local Public Health regulations.
- Knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures).
- Proficient in conducting food safety audits, operational compliance checks, and documentation management.
- Strong understanding of food storage, cross-contamination prevention, allergen control, and temperature control standards.
- Excellent communication skills to deliver findings and corrective actions to kitchen and management staff.
- Proficiency in inspection software or tools for reporting, data tracking, and compliance audits.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to store locations as needed.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: From $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
