The Peer Support Case Manager at Holyrood Supportive Housing will provide recovery-focused, peer-driven support to all participants in the program. Drawing on lived experience with recovery, mental health, substance use, and/or housing instability, the Peer Support Case Manager will ensure that residents feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their housing and recovery journey.

This position will not hold a formal caseload but will work collaboratively across the program, engaging with all residents, staff, and community supports to foster connection, belonging, and hope. The Peer Support Case Manager will model recovery principles, deliver peer-led programming, and establish resident-driven peer initiatives to strengthen the recovery culture at Holyrood.

Although the Peer Support Case Manager will not hold a formal caseload, the role directly enhances and supports the work of case managers by:
1. Reinforcing Care Plans - Encouraging residents to engage in the strategies identified by case managers, providing day-to-day peer support that builds motivation and follow-through.

2. Bridging Professional and Peer Perspective**s** - Offering lived-experience insight to complement case managers’ focus on assessments, treatment planning, and coordination of services, creating a more holistic support system.

3. Fostering Engagement - Leading peer-based activities and initiatives that will strengthen belonging, reduce disengagement, and support residents’ receptiveness to formal services.

4. Providing Feedback and Collaboration - Sharing observations about resident strengths, needs, and group dynamics to inform and enhance case managers’ planning and interventions.

**Description of Duties and Responsibilities**

**Provide Peer-Based Support**
- Offer peer-to-peer engagement and recovery-focused support to all participants at Holyrood.
- Use lived experience to build trust, empathy, and rapport across the resident community.
- Encourage self-advocacy, resilience, and personal empowerment through one-to-one and group interactions.
- Support residents in navigating challenges while celebrating recovery milestones.

**Lead Peer Programming**
- Design and facilitate peer-led groups, workshops, and community-building activities.
- Develop and maintain a peer programming calendar accessible to all residents.
- Incorporate recovery-focused activities that reduce isolation, foster connection, and promote wellness.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure programming is inclusive, resident-driven, and recovery-oriented.

**Model Recovery Principles**
- Demonstrate healthy coping strategies, effective boundary-setting, and recovery-focused living.
- Model respect, consistency, and dignity in interactions with residents and staff.
- Actively contribute to creating a culture of hope, choice, and empowerment across the program.

**Support Resident Navigatio**n
- Provide peer-level guidance in accessing healthcare, benefits, transportation, education, and other supports.
- Offer accompaniment to appointments when appropriate, serving as an advocate and ally.
- Collaborate with Case Managers and staff to enhance residents’ access to resources.

**Collaborate with Staff**
- Work with Case Managers, Support Workers, and Team Leads to provide peer-informed perspectives in care planning and service delivery.
- Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and resident reviews to contribute insight from a peer support lens.
- Promote trauma-informed, harm reduction, and recovery-centered values across the multidisciplinary team.

**Training and Mentorship**
- Support staff training around peer values, recovery principles, and lived-experience perspectives.
- Mentor other staff with lived experience or residents interested in leadership roles within the community.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision to sustain quality peer practice.

**Development of a Resident Peer Group**
- Establish and facilitate a Resident Peer Group made up of program participants.
- Empower residents to have a voice in decision-making related to programming, activities, and community initiatives.
- Promote resident leadership and mutual support as part of the broader recovery culture.
- Ensure the peer group remains inclusive, recovery-focused, and resident-led.
