Markham, Canada Volunteer Markham Full time

**TITLE**:Corporate Fundraiser
**REPORTS TO**:Program Manager
**STATUS**:4 Month Contract, Part-Time (24 hours/week - between Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:00pm)
**LOCATION**:Remote/work from home with occasional on-site events
**RATE**:$25 per hour

**We are**:
Volunteer Markham is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to serving Markham and surrounding communities. We passionately support our residents and community service organizations by providing community information and connecting people to volunteer opportunities. We are funded by the Government of Canada and more recently, local businesses in York Region.

**Responsibilities**:
Help raise funds from location corporations in the York Region to support our operations.
Activities would include:

- Helping finalize our value proposition
- Updating marketing materials
- Researching and contacting local businesses to discuss our value and the benefits of supporting us
- Presenting value proposition to local businesses individually or with VM staff or board
- Finalizing sponsorships and cause marketing deals
- Ensure donations are processed in an accurate manner by confirming accurate recording of donor contact and payment details.
- Answer donor questions about Volunteer Markham’s work.

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- A minimum of 2 years experience in a sales role selling products or services to corporate clients
- Experience in the nonprofit fundraising sector will be considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work with confidential information with discretion
- Computer competency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Google Suite.
- Self-motivated with ability to work well independently and remotely with stakeholders
- Exceptional interpersonal / customer service skills in dealing effectively with the public
- Ability to travel/attend in-person events and meetings in the York Region area 30% of the time.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, problem solve and work as part of a cohesive and collaborative team.
- Self-starter, able to work within a small team both independently and as part of the team.
- Resident of Markham/York Region is preferred
