**Responsibilities**:
The
**Microsoft Public Relations (PR)/Communications Manager** serves as key counsel to marketing and business group management for direction and guidance around PR strategy, messaging, and the quality of external facing communications for specific products and services and overall brand perceptions. This includes the strategy for driving perception changing media coverage and top stories; digital PR techniques; strategic management of PR plans; creation of effective media training; and managing the subsidiary PR agency. This key role drives the strategy for engaging with top-tier media, online influencers and maintains relationships with key journalists.

Reporting to the Head of Communications, Microsoft Canada, this role acts as a key liaison between the subsidiary, business groups and the Microsoft Corporate PR team on reactive or opportunistic issues related to the products represented in this role.

**Qualifications**:
**Required/Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience
- OR equivalent experience.

**Additional or Preferred Qualifications**
- 5-7 years PR experience in the technology industry preferred.
- Proven understanding and existing relationships with the Canadian media landscape.

**Key Skillset**
- Passion for the commercial technology space with a B2B focus.
- Strong social media and influencer experience - understanding how to use and engage this field to support/drive PR efforts.
- Self-motivated, driven, strong collaborator, excellent written and verbal skills.
- Knowledge of the technology industry including knowledge of Microsoft products and services and experience.
