**Maintenance Manager** with large earthworks and construction projects experience.
Nuna is the largest Inuit-owned heavy civil construction, earthworks, and mine construction contractor in Canada.

**_ Position Scope_**
The position of Maintenance Manager is required to increase efficiency and controls of the Maintenance Department within the Nuna Group of Companies. This will be done through the standardization of procedures, implementation of data-based system tracking and control of equipment maintenance costs and close monitoring of mechanical crews and sub-contractors.

**_ Duties_**
- Assist and advise in the implementation and operation of the JD Edwards computer-based Maintenance program.
- Review and standardize equipment maintenance practices, procedures, and standards throughout all projects to improve equipment availability and control costs.
- Implement procedures to improve component life or ensure optimum life on components.
- Lead weekly Maintenance conference calls with Project Sites.
- Provide technical advice and direction to field maintenance crews as required to optimize equipment repair time, efficiencies, and costs.
- Prepare maintenance budgets and projected expenditures based on equipment hours, projected hours, and historical data.
- Review and approve Maintenance Purchase Orders.
- Establish appropriate inventory levels of replacement parts necessary to support projects.
- Review existing third-party maintenance supply agreements/practices
- Visit sites on a regular basis to monitor mechanical crew practices, procedures, and output (QA/QC).
- Assist and advise Estimating department on required Maintenance resources and personnel when estimating/bidding projects.
- Along with HR department, responsible for the selecting/hiring, scheduling, and positioning of maintenance personnel.
- Provide technical advice for equipment evaluations prior to purchase and disposal.
**_Qualifications_**
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
- Post-secondary education from a recognized post-secondary facility is considered an asset.
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Ticket is considered an asset.
- Heavy Civil project experience required.
- Experience with earthworks and heavy machinery of all types.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Maintenance planned expertise.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- An elevated level of organizational skills.
- Pursues continual improvement.
- Able to work / visit our remote worksites when required.
- Previous experience working on site in Northern Canada is considered an Asset.
- Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
- Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Have experience as requested in the job description above
