As the Director, Facilities Management and Security, you are responsible for the oversight of all Capital Estates, Facilities Management and Security for the Calgary Police Service (CPS). Managing short-term and long-term infrastructure requirements at CPS, which encompasses; budget, health & safety, people management, operations, design, development, and construction/maintenance at all CPS facilities. Primary duties include:

- Provide direction and leadership for the Facilities, Capital and Security Functions within the organization.
- Work with internal and external partners including CPS senior management, partner agencies, consulting and construction firms, Procurement, and Facilities to provide services for CPS.
- Provide oversight and leadership in the strategic management of Capital Planning and Facilities Management.
- Lead the development of operating standards, processes and procedures in Facilities Management and Security, providing expert support during implementation. Identify trends impacting CPS through establishing objectives, researching, monitoring performance, setting priorities, mitigating risk, writing process and providing approvals.
- Oversees ongoing analyses and direction of operations, suggestions and continuous improvement measures. Audit tracking of work performed via the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) platform against established KPIs.
- Oversees ongoing compliance with federal, provincial, and local standards.

**Qualifications**
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering with a strong emphasis on Facilities and Project Management experience. Equivalent combinations of education and/or experience will also be considered.
- A master's in business administration is considered an asset.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in a Project Management environment, focused on Facilities Maintenance with a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership roles is required.
- A current Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or international equivalent is preferred, but a clear demonstration of applied project planning related job experience will also be considered.
- A current International Facility Management Associations (IFMA) or Building Owner and Managers Association (BOMA) designation will be considered an asset, but a clear demonstration of applied facilities management related job experience will also be considered.
- Proven leadership, business acumen, analytical capabilities, communication, and negotiation skills are essential. Additionally, strong experience in policy development, processes and problem-solving skills are required.
- Experience in planning and performing Lifecycle Cost Analysis and Facility Capital Planning is necessary.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project and Primavera, along with, experience in facilities maintenance process, design, and optimization and familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS: Maximo, SAP, or equivalent) for work management, planning, analytics, and continuous improvement is essential.
