**Our Team**

The Process Technology team is integral to the safe and efficient operation of the of the Mill and is responsible to assist in maintaining the Mills metallurgical targets for our customers. Members of the team will be working with our customers across the smelter complex, including the filter plant, furnace, converters, casting and crushing, matte processing, and the acid plant. The technical team fully supports their counterparts in operations and maintenance with ongoing process support and longer-term process improvement activities and projects that support local and corporate initiatives.

**The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking a **Superintendent, Section Lead **to join our Clarabelle team in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a **permanent** position.

The role ensures that process improvements and technologies are assessed on an ongoing basis and consistent manner, and used appropriately to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Clarabelle Mill. The Section Lead provides Safety leadership, guidance, and direction to the team of professional engineers and technologists that perform these functions. This position reports to the Manager of Clarabelle Mill.

**Additionally, this position**:

- Ensures safety of all employees in his/her area, personal safety plan compliance, and execution of the area safety plan.
- Develops safety-related behaviours in direct reports.
- Leads or contributes significantly to process safety analysis and critical failure investigations.
- Supervises a workgroup on a full-time basis.
- Assigns and schedules work, provides advice and direction, establishes work standards, and monitors work quality & quantity.
- Develops direct reports and promotes teamwork.
- Promotes working across boundaries for the betterment of the business.
- Monitors metallurgical process parameters and takes corrective action with his/her team, advises operating Superintendents accordingly, and escalates issues as required.
- Implements project analysis, including data collection and interpretation, and recommends a plan for process improvements.
- Provides technical resources and support to projects (capital and operating) ranging from participating on the teams to leading the project.
- Participates in short and long-range planning and provides input to Managers' plans.
- Accesses and interprets department and plant budgets.
- Prepares, writes, and presents scopes of work and business cases for capital & R&D requests.
- Contributes to departmental and operational budgets and forecasts.
- Completes feasibility studies and makes recommendations on requests for capital or operating funding.

**About You**

**Education**:

- Required: Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering or technical college diploma (chemical, metallurgical, materials science, minerals)
- Preferred: advanced degree in a related discipline and P. Eng.

**Experience**:

- 10 years minimum related work experience

**Skills**:

- Leading & developing teams along with previous supervisory experience.
- Strong communication (technical and non-technical) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong process knowledge.
- Business acumen and systems knowledge.
- Continuous improvement training would be an asset.
