Our Equipment Finance Group is a team of specialized individuals who know heavy equipment industries inside and out. We are not office dwellers - our team members often start the day in a branch and end the day on-site with our clients. We are out in the community every day speaking directly with clients, and not one day is the same as the last.

The opportunity

Portfolio Managers are responsible for the day-to-day management and depth of client relationships for very active, large and/or strategic accounts with attributes of recurring flow business and/or intensive account management requirements. Targeted growth in franchised client relationships is achieved through anchoring strong relationships and facilitating collaboration, cross selling and shared relationships that result in successful business referrals within across CWB and our active lines of business.

Day-to-day activities

Client focused. Deliver outstanding client experiences at every interaction and execute on plans to continuously build the client experience, in line with CWB’s brand promise. Provide full-service solutions for clients with the view to be every client’s primary financial partner.

Portfolio management. You will drive growth while cultivating a diverse mix of client accounts.

Sales activation. You will undertake the gamut in sales activities to source and develop franchised client relationships through strong partnerships and collaboration with specialist teams across the regional branch network.

Knowledge growth. You will invest in continuous learning. Keeping up-to-date and in-tune with local market trends and national industry shifts.

Networking. You will connect and establish networks with a variety of partners and clients to develop lasting relationships for you and the bank.

Risk management. Together with the commercial credit team, you will utilize your risk assessment skills to ensure appropriate measures are put into place and risk assessment protocols and structures are implemented, while balancing risk and reward within CWB's risk appetite.

Mentorship. Although no direct employees report to you, you will develop a strong leadership foundation by coaching and mentoring work with junior employees.

Foundational knowledge and experience to grow with

Financial and marketing knowledge of local markets and national economies built on a foundation of formal education (business, finance, accounting degree) and real-life experience (2+ years of sales or financial services experience) with proven analytical & risk assessment skills, preferably in equipment financing and leasing.
